In the article, "America's Killing Contagion", under the subtitle, "What drives the shooters?", I find it super interesting that many things can cause people to commit to mass shootings. For example, when I heard how the American dream is a probable cause to the mass genocides. When people are told they have to work hard to achieve success, and they end up in failure, they feel like victims and cheated. I also found it interesting when the paragraph states, "They are in great pain", because I empathize for these people how they feel like they have been cheated on.

In "My Sister the Solder," the main idea of the article is about how a little girls' older sister enlists in the army.
Mother: "There is a war, you will be in dangerous situations." Sister Darlene (Soldier): "I'm 18 which is old enough, and through the army, I'll be able to make progress." Little Sister: "Don't worry. They don't send women to fight on the front lines in wars, so they are not in great danger." |
